PROUD MOMENT AS CITE-HUAWEI ACADEMY STUDENTS GAIN GLOBAL RECOGNITION

The closing and award ceremony of the Huawei ICT Competition 2019/2020 Global Final has been held at the Huawei base, Songshan Lake, Dongguan and Nigeria as a sub Venue because of the excellent performance from her students.



In attendance was MD Huawei Nigeria, NUC Deputy ES, Nigeria CEO of NIGCOMSAT on Behalf of Mr President, VC of Ahmadu Bello Univrsity, Director of Center for Information and Telecommunication Engineering (CITE), on Behalf of the VC of University of Port Harcourt, Deputy Student Affairs on Behalf of the VC of University of Ibadan.

The Deputy Managing Director for Huawei Technologies Company Nigeria Limited, Kelvin Yang who was also in attendance said that the ICT Talents Eco-system Development Programme was launched so that local ICT talents can be nurtured and developed to the point of global recognition. And indeed, it was a reality on this day 16th of November 2020.

The students who were thrilled to have emerge as winners after ten months of hard work from a competition which comprises of national preliminary, regional semi-final and a global final to crown it all, indeed were proud of their achievement for themselves, their families and the nation at large.



The students from the University of Port Harcourt were trained and given full support from the Center for Information and Telecommunication Engineering Huawei Academy, thanks to the Director, Dr. B. O. Omijeh (Associate Professor, EEE Dept.). The students are Ugheoke Anthony Oshiobugie, Ukasanya Elma Tejiri and Eghagha Issac Evieoghene, all from the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
